Are you searching for gift ideas for the crocheter in your life? (Besides yarn?) Do you draw a complete blank when trying to come up with crocheting gift ideas?
I’m assuming you have someone in your life who is obsessed with crocheting? Like your whole house is littered with scrap pieces of yarn? Maybe there are crochet hooks everywhere and you don’t even have a dining room table anymore?
Then you might want to talk to my husband. He is married to someone who has yarn EVERYWHERE. I mean it. In the car, in the house, in my purse, stashed under the stairs. I cannot go anywhere without taking my yarn and hook with me, because who knows, you might need to kill some time! Might as well get in a few stitches while I’m waiting for the doctor.
But what about crochet gift giving?
Do you draw a blank when coming up with gift ideas for the crocheter in your life? If you’re anything like my other half, then you just get stuck. I have actually created an Amazon shopping list of crocheting gift ideas for him to draw on when he feels like spoiling me.
This way he doesn’t have to just try and figure out what I might like, he knows EXACTLY what I am drooling over at the moment.
(Which, BTW, is all the things. Literally.)
Sure, it takes some of the magic out of the process, but in my opinion, it’s perfect. I still get surprised because I don’t know which thing he decided to get, and he knows that it’ll be something I’m sure to love. Win/Win.

Of course, the very first thing that all crocheters want is more yarn! I know, you’re rolling your eyes right now. But the truth is, you can never have enough yarn! Even if it’s taking over your house, you will ALWAYS want more yarn.
And while all yarn is welcome and loved, the best gift would be some super soft, very high-quality yarn like these delicious skeins right here. Bulky yarn is on-trend right now, and I don’t see that going away any time soon. So a 3 pack of this gorgeous alpaca bulky yarn blend is just the ticket.
There is also this amazing colorway from Bernat in a bulky style as well. I am literally drooling looking at both of these! (Don’t they look comfy?)
2. Crochet Hooks:
This is one of the most commonly overlooked items that crocheters love! You can never have too many hooks. There are as many different kinds of hooks, shapes, sizes, and styles as there are people.
The ones I personally love the most are, in my opinion, the best out there. The Clover Armour Ergonomic hooks are simply amazing. Smooth, and soft to the touch they are easy to hold and work with for hours. The best part is that my hands don’t cramp as badly when I’m using these bad boys.
Of course, there’s always some great novelty hooks out there too. If you’re a F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan like I am, then hooks like this one are a must!
The Yarn Weave Co on Etsy sells this and I absolutely need it in my life. Look how awesome the details on it are!
3. Stitch Markers
You may be wondering what stitch markers actually are, or why you might need them. Well, they are pretty self-explanatory, they are a tool that helps your crocheter mark the stitches they need to keep track of.
Sometimes when you’re working on a difficult project, or with a yarn color that’s hard to see, (black!) it’s hard to keep track of the stitches you’re making. Having something brightly colored attached to your project in just the right place can be so helpful.
These stitch markers are the ones I personally use, and they are so dang handy! They just look like really large safety pins, (which is really what they are) and they’re plastic and brightly colored. Easy to find in your project.
4. Crochet Hook & Supplies Organization Case
Look, we crocheters are the artsy creative types. And sometimes that process doesn’t afford us much organization or attention to detail. That’s why we’re constantly misplacing hooks, scissors, stitch markers (The kids?) you name it!
This amazing case is one I personally own and use DAILY. It keeps everything in one spot and zips up securely so I can take it with me when it’s time to travel. If you only get one takeaway gift ideas for the crocheter in your life, get this case No crocheter should be without this little case. I promise they will love it.
5. Craft Store Gift Cards
These are always a sure-fire hit. If you’re unsure of what of these items to grab, you can never go wrong with a gift card to their favorite craft store. (Michaels anyone?)
6. Crochet Books/Magazines
There are so many great crochet books and magazines out there these days. It’s really a great idea to give to your crocheter. The books I love are the stitch guides (you can never learn enough new stitches!) and the pattern books.
This amazing book by fellow hooker and blogger Sarah Zimmerman at Repeat Crafter Me crochet is one of my favorites. She has so many cute patterns, and corner to corner is one of my all-time favorite ways to make a blanket!
Also, this stitch guide is one I personally use every single time I start creating a new project. Super helpful and full of great pictures and illustrations.
7. Yarn Tote Bag
There isn’t a crocheter alive who doesn’t wish for more pockets in whatever bag they’re using. I know when I carry my projects with me, things get lost easily in a regular tote bag. That’s why I had to add this magnificent yarn tote bag to this list.
With plenty of pockets and capacity for several full skeins of yarn, this is every crafter’s dream bag. (I know it’s mine!) This bag will make their day for sure. A great gift idea for the crocheter you’re buying for.
8. Yarn Ball Winder
Everyone uses their yarn differently when creating a project. Some pull from the skein, while others like to roll it into a ball. Or maybe you’re trying to wind the last of a skein of yarn into a ball so you don’t get the dreaded “yarn barf”.
A yarn ball winder simplifies your process of gathering up those yarn strands and saves you so much time. Knit Picks Yarn Ball Winder is by far the most popular and reliable model of winder on the market. I highly recommend this for some crocheting gift ideas!
9. Yarn Bowl
After you’ve wound up all the yarn into balls, it can be tricky to make it stay put while you’re working. That’s why yarn bowls have become increasingly popular in recent years. Some are made from wood in simple designs, while others are hilarious and made from ceramic or plastic.
If your crocheter is anything like me, they have at least five projects going at once, and about fourteen more being planned. (Or in various stages of planning) Like all of these patterns in my pattern roundup! And if you’re a designer, you’ll need a place to write down and sketch out your designs.
Being able to keep all of that info straight can sometimes be very overwhelming. That’s why this crochet project notebook is so handy! Perfect crocheting gift ideas for anyone!
11. Pom Pom Makers
It’s the dream of every crocheter to make fluffy adorable pom poms. A perfectly round fluffy ball on top of a crocheted beanie is such a thing of beauty! Using one of these pom makers will make that dream a reality! One of the best gift ideas for the crocheter in your life. Like seriously, get it now.
12. Crafter Compression Gloves
And finally, after all the stress we put our hands through as crocheters, our hands can get cramped and stiff. These awesome compression gloves help relieve tension and increase circulation. I own approximately three pair and I wear them every night.
I hope you’ve found something on this list that will help give you some gift ideas for the crocheter in your life. All of these items are great tools of the trade and are bound to make your crocheter smile when they receive them!
